The method used to create these prints is called “Relief Printing.” This method deposits ink on the top surface of an engraved copper plate leaving the engraved lines free of ink. This in in contrast to intalglio in which ink is applied within the engraved lines. A print is taken by placing paper on top of the plate and then running through an etching press. Due to the nature of the printing process each edition is restricted to a limited number printed.
